Middle and High School Introduces Sycamore

Dear Parents:

The American Middle and High School is very pleased this year to launch a new web-based communication tool to keep you better informed of school events, expectations and your child’s performance. From this September, teachers and students will be using Sycamore Education as an online information tool. From late September, we will start inviting you, as parents, to use Sycamore to access important school information.

Sycamore is web-based, meaning you and your child will be able to view important records and resources from any device with an Internet connection, using a secure, password-protected website. Sycamore will strengthen the home-school relationship by enabling you to:

Access your child’s academic records, including assignments and up-to-date grades

Monitor your child’s school work

Access to your child’s attendance and discipline records

Use built-in communication tools to contact the school

View school news, events and documents

View course materials (replacing the OLE)

Your child will receive his/her Sycamore login details over the next two weeks and be instructed in how to access his/her class information, grades and school news. In a few weeks, we will provide parents with login information for their family and arrange training opportunities to help you better understand how to view information and benefit fully from the site. As a parent, you will have one login which will allow you to access records for all of the children you have enrolled in the Middle and/or High School.

We are very excited about the potential of Sycamore to keep you better informed and look forward to launching Sycamore with you. Should you have any questions, please contact me via email (afleet@alsson.com) or through the American Office (Ext. 330).

Best wishes for a successful school year!

Best Regards,

Allison Fleet

American Senior School Principal
