Middle School is a time of great change for adolescents. Our Middle School Program is designed to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences to help students be able to think, create, and contribute, preparing them for success in the 21st century.

Our courses in Middle School meet leading US curriculum standards, and all courses support the literacy development of the Common Core State Standards. Courses are delivered in a safe and engaging learning environment which allows for the development of the unique interests, abilities and aspirations of our students.

Each year, Middle School students study a core curriculum including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, French, Drama, Music, Computer Science, Art, SEL, Physical Education and Arabic Studies. Additionally, students participate in an Advisory Program which provides students with opportunities to learn about digital citizenship, study skills, and awareness assemblies led by our counseling team. Our dedicated SEL instruction is a vital part of our holistic approach to cultivating the interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in High School. Our G8 Exploratory Elective Program gives students in grade 8 the opportunity to continue deeper in prior subjects in areas such as the performing arts, or try new interests such as robotics or debate. . For students who need additional support in English, a targeted English class is offered throughout middle school, which helps students to focus on meeting their literacy growth goals.

Lessons are taught using a variety of teaching and learning strategies which are research-based and proven to be effective with Middle School aged learners. Great care is taken to ensure students develop their critical thinking and independent learning skills, which builds their academic confidence.

Students are assessed using a variety of methods including projects, presentations, writing tasks, performances, tests and quizzes. Students and parents are able to keep track of performance and course resources using the online portal, Toddle.
