25 Egyptian students are Top in the World

British Council Egypt and Pearson Egypt were honoured to award their outstanding students at the annual Outstanding Pearson Learner Award ceremony on Tuesday, 21 February 2017, at the British Embassy in Cairo (UK in Egypt) in the presence of HE Dr Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Vocational Education.

Co-hosted by John Casson, British Ambassador in Egypt, Jeff Streeter, Director of British Council in Egypt, and Ahmed Ismail, Director Pearson Egypt, the ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of secondary school learners in the 2016 Edexcel IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams.

67 awards were presented to 57 outstanding Egyptian students who topped millions of students around the world for exceptional performance in Pearson Edexcel examinations including Top in the World -25 awards out of a global total of 946- Top in Egypt and Top in Africa Awards for international Qualifications.

The IGCSE exams were first introduced by the British Council in Egypt in 1990 and are offered to 120 different schools across Egypt.
