Introducing the Buddy System in KS3

From September 2013 we will be introducing a Buddy system at El Alsson. If you will be in Yr 8 or 9 next year and are interested in becoming a Buddy after reading the attachment, please email Miss Julie (jclarke@alsson.com). There will only be space for 42 Buddies so please contact me as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Miss Julie

El Alsson Buddy System

Why have a Buddy System at El Alsson?
•    To encourage a responsible attitude of older pupils
•    To build better social bonds across the school years
•    To eradicate bullying
•    To try to ensure that all children are free from loneliness or isolation at playtimes and lunchtime
•    To encourage high levels of self esteem and confidence in all our pupils as valued members of our school family

What is the role of a Buddy?

•    To be allocated an individual Yr6 student to mentor and help settle in
•    To be involved in the organisation of Buddy activities
•    To listen to any problems that your Buddy has and if necessary report them to a member of staff
•    To help with any academic concerns
•    To become involved in extra-curricular activities
