KS3 (inc. Y10) End of Year Exam Schedule

Dear Parents,

The end of year test schedule for the British School was shared today. I understand that during the recent Parents Evening, it was shared that the tests would start before the end of Ramadan to allow for marking, feedback and reports to be written. Apologies if you did not receive this message.

To help alleviate some of the anxiety that may be felt we have taken the decision to review the schedule with the intention of starting the examinations after Eid for Year 7, 8 and 9. Hopefully this will provide additional time for students to prepare.

On a general note I would like to remind students and parents that the end of year examinations are given as an additional means of assessing student progress and attainment. Although important they are no more important than the continuous assessment that teachers carry out during the year to assess student attainment.

Students should spend some time preparing for the tests but by no means should they go into this period with feelings of stress.

Overall student progress for the academic period reflects a combination of all assessments carried out during the year.

I hope this communication clarifies the present situation and I wish all our students good luck in the upcoming tests.

Kind regards,

Lee Chalkly

British School Principal
